Winter Scene in Brooklyn

Date: 1819-1820
Medium: oil on canvas
Location: Brooklyn
Dimensions: 190.5 x 149.2

Picture painted by the English painter Francis Guy colonial (1760-1820) living in the US (one of the first landscape painters in the United States). Brueghelovskou captures the vibrant scene on the streets of Brooklyn in 1820. Today, near the Brooklyn Bridge (street still exist).

The image is preserved key - figure numbers of characters and buildings complete with labels - so today we know that a man feeding chickens (middle) Mr. Abiel Titus, in the yard behind his wife Gilbert Titus's. On horseback, at the pump, James, son of Mr. Titus, standing beside him Mrs. Burnett. A man with a stick on the left is Benjamin Meeker and find him in friendly dialogue with Judge Garrison.

The building on the left, on the corner of the shop and the house of Mr. Meeker, then left her side cafe Mrs. Chester. To the right of the house is the house of Titus and trade Mr. Birdsall (in 1869 still alive).

We could continue, because each character has a name and a house. Only we do not know what it's called the man who slipped on the ice. For we know that right from the chimney of the house of Titus climbs Negro Samuel Foster. Guy painted picture Winter Scene in Brooklyn in 1819-1820. Prevailing color of this fine art print is brown and its shape is landscape. Original size is 190.5 x 149.2. This art piece is located in Brooklyn. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.
