Jean Frederic Bazille (1841-1870). French painter belonging to the impressionists. Among his frequent themes is the display of different activities in open air – he often painted such scenes. He was friends with Claude Monet , Alfred Sisley and Edouard Manet . He was financially secure and generous to his colleagues - for example, he provided them with paint or lent them his studio. By the time he was 23, he became famous for his first images that still belong to the world-famous works of impressionism (The Pink Dress - Pink dress (1864, Musée Dorsam, Paris.) In this image, Bazille combines a portrait of his cousin Therese des Hours with a sunlit landscape. Another of his famous paintings is Family Reunion from the year 1867.
