Jozsef Rippl-Ronai (1861-1927) A significant Hungarian painter who significantly influenced Post-Impressionist Hungarian art. He was close friends with the sculptor Aristide Maillol. They met in Paris, where they both studied. Along with his friend, Ronai worked in the art group Nabis, to which Jean-Edouard Vuillard also belonged. At the beginning of the 20th century, Roinar returned to his native Hungary, specifically the city Kaposvár, where he continued to paint (Park at Night). He kept in contact with Maillol, who became a successful French sculptor, until they met again.
