Gio. Francesco II Brignole Sale
The painting depicts a
portrait of a man in ancient clothes. The man wears a white wig, typical of the 17th and 18th centuries, and wears an ornate military uniform with metallic details and blue accents. He also wears iron armor with reflections. He sits casually, one hand resting loosely on his hip and the other holding his glove. The background of the painting consists of trees and an architectural element, perhaps part of a column or monument.
Prevailing color of this fine art print is brown and its shape is portrait. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.
Riguard Hyacinthe (1659-1743) was born into an artistic family. He picked up the basics of painting in his father’s workshop, but a big influence on him were the works of
Baroque giants
Palu Rubens Peter a > Tizian Anthony van Dyck and
Rembrandt. Rigaud lived and worked in Lyon and then moved to Paris, where he painted portraits of wealthy businessmen and bankers. During the reign of
Louis XVI, whose coronation he painted, Hyacinthe was sought out for the impressive poses that he painted on his portraits. The royal family, government officials, nobles and others wanted Rigaud to immortalize them and were willing to pay for it. It is not so surprising that his life works are portraits of, more or less, all important personalities that shaped the future of France. Many of his paintings are in the museum at Versailles and the Musée des Beaux-Arts.
