During a long period of depression after the death of his wife, Monet had the idea of realising a series of paintings with water lilies. He was inspired by his garden in Giverny. The whole project only became a reality after a letter from an admirer who wanted to create decorations for a circular room. Monet worked in secret, using a canvas of enormous dimensions. He treated the motifs in an almost abstract way: light, water, plants, all dissolving in a harmony of colours and reflections. The paintings often give the impression that the painter was working submerged in water (Monet used the experience of his floating studio on the Seine). Prevailing color of this fine art print is green and its shape is square. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.
