Alfred Sisley (1839-1899). French Impressionist landscape artist. In accordance with the impressionist tradition, he fundamentally painted in the open air. Among his famous paintings are a series of paintings around the Thames and near the French town of Moret-sur-Loing. As an early painter, he was influenced by Turner and Constable. His works have some common features with the paintings of Pissarro - they have atmosphere and reflect the charm of the place. Sisley was a master of painting the sky, which is always impressive in his paintings.
