80.3 x 100.3It is speculated that the inspiration for the painting The Footballers was the first international rugby match that took place in Paris between France and England. The characters are painted in a very positive way, and their placement can make us feel like a collage. The man in the front is widely believed to be a self-portrait of the author himself,
Henri Rousseau . Although there is neither the moon nor the sun in the painting, Rousseau still managed to incorporate his usual circular mark on the canvas, this time in the object of a ball.
Rousseau painted picture Football players in 1908. Prevailing color of this fine art print is vivid and its shape is portrait. Original size is 80.3 x 100.3. This art piece is located in Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, USA. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.
Henri Julien Félix Rousseau (1844 - 1910). French
Post-Impressionist painter. He learned painting himself (he developed a specific naive style) and eventually became a brilliant artist whose paintings are firmly embedded in art history. For his profession as a customs officer, he is also called Customs (see his self-portrait known as
Customs). He never left France, but became known for his paintings
Jungle. Contemporaries often mocked him (they reproached him for his children's paintings). Picasso, who by chance saw one of his paintings and appreciated the quality of his work, prepared a banquet in Rousseau’s honour
Dream.
