Flaming Giraffe
Salvador Dalí painted Flaming Giraffe before his exile in the United States, which was between 1940 and 1948. The painting is set in a gloomy atmosphere with a dark blue sky. In the foreground are two female figures, one with drawers opening from her side like a chest.
The hands, forearms and face of the nearest figure are stripped down to the muscle tissue beneath the skin. In the distance we can see a giraffe with its back on fire.
