Gerrard ter Borch (1617-1681) was a
Dutch master. He received his art education from his father. Once he acquired a basic art education, his father sent him on study trips to Germany, Italy, France and Spain. There, he was awarded a knighthood by Philip IV, but because intrigues, he had to return to Holland. Finally, he settled in Deventer, where he lived happily. He painted scenes from the life of the rich and ordinary people -
Horse Stable. His works are very rare. Six of them are on display in the Berlin Museum, five at the Louvre in Paris and four in the Dresden Museum.
