Váza chryzantém (Dahlias)

ID: #861115 | Impressionism | Flowers

Vase of Chrysanthemums is one of many paintings depicting the motif of flowers, which Renoir was obsessed with studying. The painting is characterized by very fine brushstrokes and a varied range of colors. It comes from a critical period for the artist - for in the late 1870s and 1880s, Renoir was beginning to move away from Impressionism and reaping rich criticism for it from his admirers and patrons alike. In search of new inspiration, he embarks on journeys to soak up the renaissance atmosphere of Italian museums. Upon his return, he participates in an Impressionist exhibition in 1882, contributing a total of 25 paintings, including a detailed Vase of Chrysanthemums. The reaction to the exhibition is very positive and Renoir thus rejoins the ranks of respected Impressionist artists. Prevailing color of this fine art print is vivid and its shape is portrait. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.
