Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) was a Dutch master, famous for painting mainly riding and hunting scenes. Born in Haarlem, he became a painter like his brothers. His early works show scenes from daily life, for example Harvest. Later, however, found his passion in hunting - Rest Stop and military scenes - Courtyard – shoeing of horses.
