American, mostly watercolour artist.John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) received artistic training from his mother, who tapped into his talent immediately during his childhood. She enrolled him in painting lessons in Paris. He did not complete his studies at the academy, because he liked to learn more about nature and the world around him rather than sit and learn.
