Walk through the woods

Date: 1886-1890
Medium: oil on canvas
Location: Kunsthaus, Zurich, Switzerland
Dimensions: 70 x 60

Although Henri Rousseau never left France, themes of the forest and later the jungle appear frequently in his work. In particular, the forest is repeated most often - every time it dominates the entire canvas of the painting. The interestingly rendered greenery is then complemented by one or two figures that emerge between the branches or stand as if lost among the trees. In the painting Walk through the woods it is a lady in a red dress, in A Meeting in the Woods we can see a couple kissing under the cover of leafy branches.

Rousseau painted picture Walk through the woods in 1886-1890. Prevailing color of this fine art print is green and its shape is portrait. Original size is 70 x 60. This art piece is located in Kunsthaus, Zurich, Switzerland. This image is printed on demand - you can choose material, size and finishing.

Henri Julien Félix Rousseau (1844 - 1910). French Post-Impressionist painter. He learned painting himself (he developed a specific naive style) and eventually became a brilliant artist whose paintings are firmly embedded in art history. For his profession as a customs officer, he is also called Customs (see his self-portrait known as Customs). He never left France, but became known for his paintings Jungle. Contemporaries often mocked him (they reproached him for his children's paintings). Picasso, who by chance saw one of his paintings and appreciated the quality of his work, prepared a banquet in Rousseau’s honour Dream.
