He was friends with Claude Monet , Alfred Sisley and Edouard Manet . He was financially secure and generous to his colleagues - for example, he provided them with paint or lent them his studio. In this image, Bazille combines a portrait of his cousin Therese des Hours with a sunlit landscape. Another of his famous paintings is Family Reunion from the year 1867.
