Agnostino Brunias (1730-1796), an Italian dreamer and
Romantic painter living in London and inspired by Indian art. He travelled through Europe with a Scottish architect. In England, he painted elegant buildings and at the peak of his career, he accompanied Sir William Young as his personal painter on the voyage to the Lesser Antilles. He painted colonial life on the
islands. After returning to England, he exhibited three paintings at the Royal Academy.
