Andy Warhol / Andrew Warhol (1928-1987). He is rightly ranked among the most influential artists of the late 20th century. He is the founder of so-called pop art. He was born in the USA to Slovak emigrants. He changed his name after it was garbled in a magazine. As one of the first, he began to use photos as the basis for his paintings and drawings. This enabled him to repeat some motives in his paintings.
