A fox terrier named Nipper, together with a gramophone, was inherited by the English painter Francis Barraud from his brother Mark. The painter played his brother's voice on the gramophone and was interested in how the dog reacted to him. The artwork was created in 1899. After some time, the painting was purchased by the gramophone company Gramophone Company, and then under the name His Master's Voice it was owned by the American company Victor Talking Machine Company. Barraud painted picture His Master´s Voice - Victor gramophones in 20th century. Prevailing color of this fine art print is brown and its shape is landscape.
